Research Paper Entry

The last research paper that i wrote was in a spring 2011 semester in one of my Middle Level education classes. I researched Looping in middle schools and its effectiveness. For those of you that do not know what looping is, its the process of the same teacher staying with the same group of students for two to three years. With this process there are many advantages as long as you have teachers that are willing to participate. My research was focused on the middle school years of education but it is also utilized in some schools in earlier grades. My researched provided many examples of the positive outcomes for the students that had teachers migrate through the grades with them. As you can imagine, teaching students at two to three different grades can create a lot of work for a teacher. They are constantly teaching different curriculum and facing the challenges with that. The positive side of this is that teachers learn how their students learn the most effectively and utilize that informationto its fullest extent, which in turn allows them to cover more content and curriculum with in a given period. The topic was very interesting and as a future educator, i look forward to the opportunity to teach in this fashion.
